Decision

To appoint Full Tilt Graphics produce and installation vinyl wraps to three vacant retail units within the Bognor Regis Arcade (Units 7, 9 and 15).

Reasons for the decision

The Bognor Regis Arcade is a Council-owned property occupying a prominent position within Bognor Regis town centre. Several vacant units currently create a poor visual appearance and detract from the overall visitor experience.

The proposed vinyl wraps will:
• Improve the appearance of vacant retail frontages.
• Reduce the negative impact of vacant units on the town centre environment.
• Provide attractive wayfinding and place-marketing information.
• Support wider regeneration, town centre improvement and placemaking objectives.
• Improve the visitor experience within the Arcade.
• Support civic pride and encourage increased footfall within the town centre.

The vinyl wraps will utilise artwork produced in-house by Arun District Council's Graphics Team and will reflect established wayfinding palette and town centre branding. The wraps are intended to improve the appearance of vacant units, enhance the visitor experience and promote key destinations within Bognor Regis.

Quotations were sought for the production and installation of the wraps. A quotation was received from Full Tilt Graphics for the supply and installation of the vinyls at a cost of £1,213 excluding VAT.

A quotation was also requested from Signquick; however, no quotation was received. Having considered the quotation submitted and the scope of the installation works, the quotation from Full Tilt Graphics is considered to represent value for money and an appropriate use of Council funds.

Alternative options considered

Do Nothing:
This option was rejected as the vacant units would continue to have a negative visual impact on the appearance of the Arcade and would not support town centre improvement objectives.
