Purpose
To approve the BMSDC Anti-Social Behaviour Policy
Decision
It was RESOLVED: -
- 1.1 That Cabinet approved Option 1: to approve and adopt the Anti-Social Behaviour Policy
- 1.2 To agree for the Heads of Service in consultation with the Portfolio Holders to have delegated authority to make minor amendments to the ASB Policy to continuously improve the policy using resident insight, legislative change, lessons learned from internal audit etc.
REASON FOR DECISION
Having a single ASB policy for the 3 departments of the Council involved in preventing and tackling ASB ensures a consistent, high-quality approach. This policy embeds a cohesive strategy for addressing and managing ASB cases across the Council, clearly defining roles and responsibilities across various services.
The policy meets the requirements of the Regulator of Social Housing’s consumer standard will contribute to improving services provided to tenants.
Alternative Options Considered and Rejected:
Option 2: not to adopt the Anti-Social Behaviour Policy. This would leave the Councils to fail to embed appropriate practices and procedures, identify roles and responsibilities across the various service areas.
Any Declarations of Interests Declared: None
Any Dispensation Granted: None
