Purpose

To?use High Street Rental
Auction?powers to address persistently?vacant premises in Barnsley
town centre and the high streets in the Principal
Towns.?? 

Decision

RESOLVED
that Cabinet:-
 
(i)           
Approve the proposed locations in the
borough’s urban centres to designate for High Street Rental
Auctions, which include three areas within Barnsley town centre
(Market Street, Peel Street, and Shambles Street), and high streets
in Goldthorpe and Wombwell; and

 
(ii)         
Approve the publication of the designation proposals
in accordance with Regulation 3 of The Local Authorities (Rental
Auctions) (England) and Town and Country Planning (General
Permitted Development) (Amendment) Regulations 2024.
