Purpose

To seek approval to procure an integrated Carers Support and Prevention Service.

Decision

Cabinet Spokesperson:

1. Approve the proposed commissioning approach for an Integrated Carers Support and Prevention Service.
2. Approve commencement of the procurement process, subject to finalisation of the service specification, financial implications, legal and procurement advice. 
3. Notes that the proposed model will bring together funding of the existing carers support service, administration of the carers one-off payment, and the approved low-level prevention service funding within one funding envelope of £360,000
4. Delegates authority to the Executive Director of Adult Social Care and Integrated Health, in consultation with the relevant Cabinet Member, the Service Director Finance, Legal Services and Procurement, to finalise the procurement documentation and award arrangements in accordance with the Council’s Contract Procedure Rules.
5. Notes that engagement with carers, providers, the voluntary and community sector and system partners will inform the final model before tender launch.
