Basildon Council delivers a range of street scene and operational services through Neighbourhood Services, including grounds maintenance, street cleansing, and arboriculture. These services currently rely on paper-based processes and an outdated Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system that no longer meets operational requirements.

Implementing an asset management system will provide a single platform for managing Neighbourhood Services' assets, enabling the efficient scheduling of planned maintenance activities and the management of reactive works. The system will also integrate with the Council's CRM, improving workflow management, data accuracy, and service delivery.

To procure the solution, the Council undertook a mini-competition through the GCA Vertical Application Solution Framework. Following a comprehensive tender evaluation process, Causeway Technologies Ltd was identified as the highest-scoring bidder and recommended for contract award. The contract term is for 2 years. The Assistant Director for Environmental Services, Climate and Open Spaces has delegated authority to formally award the contract.

Funding for the software has been approved through the Modernisation and Medium-Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) Programme Board. The service will identify and deliver efficiency savings to offset implementation costs, with ongoing software licence costs being met from existing service budgets.
