Purpose

To consider a nomination received to list the Fox Inn, Newfound, as an Asset of Community Value.

Decision

The Fox Inn Newfound shall be added to the Council’s list of Assets of Community Value.

Reasons for the decision

The nomination of The Fox Inn meets the criteria to be listed as an Asset of Community Value under the legislation relating to Community Right to Bid, in that: · The community nomination was made by Oakley and Deane Parish Council which is a qualifying nominator under Section 89(2)(b)(i) of the LA 2011 and The Fox Inn is located within the parish council’s area. · There was a time in the recent past when the asset was well used by the local community and attracted visitors from further afield. It offered a wide range of opportunities for social interaction and community engagement, which contributed positively to social wellbeing, community interests and community cohesion and therefore furthered these interests (section 88(2)(a) LA 2011). · It is realistic to think there is a time in the next five years that there can continue to be non-ancillary use of the Asset that would further (whether or not in the same way as before) the social wellbeing or social interests of the local community (section 88(2)(b) LA 2011).

Alternative options considered
