Purpose
To replace end of life body worn video cameras with a new equivalents. This is an essential part of the equipment issued to Parking Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs), as lone workers, to protect them from physical and/or verbal aggression and threats when undertaking their statutory duties and meet the council’s obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
Decision
To full approve the £35k provisional capital budget funded from service support borrowing.

Alternative Options Considered: No other options are considered as this equipment is essential to ensure the council meets a range of statutory obligations from Health and Safety to the enforcement of its Traffic Regulation Orders, minimising opportunities for conflict to escalate, or to capture vital evidence to support robust action where required.
