Purpose

Following a tender exercise the contract for
provision of a retail stock management and electronic point of sale
system was awarded in 2025.

The retail system will enable in-store and online retail sales at
the sites managed by Heritage Services, as well as the ability to
run pop-up shops at Heritage Services events, thereby increasing
revenue.

As part of the project new hardware will be procured, increasing
the flexibility of the retail operation.

To fully approve £63k from the
provisional capital programme, Heritage Services Retail
System

Alternative options considered

Do nothing: This was not an option as the
system which was being used had reached the point of obsolescence
and would cease to be supported by the supplier
