Purpose
Initial investment in essential equipment and
infrastructure to meet boys, girls and pan disability requirements
for football development. Bath City Youth FC have started to
develop Lansdown as a ‘destination’ site for
multi-sport and social activity. The additional activities and
sessions offered will directly impact on the wellbeing of young
people and address health inequalities. The club will also provide
volunteer opportunities and training for parent coaches. CIL
funding will be used to invest in equipment to maintain the sports
pitches, new goals and storage facilities. The overall project will
cost £63k, with £12k match funding from the Football
Foundation.
Decision
To fully approve £51,000 of capital
budget, fully funded by Developer CIL Contributions
Alternative options considered
Do not invest in pitches and equipment, This
was not considered an option. The project will improve the standard
of pitches, allowing more game play and the club can maintain the
site without council resources.
