Purpose

To replace the gas boiler heating system at
Carrswood Day Centre with an air source heat pump, largely funded
by a Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) grant.

Decision

To approve the total capital of £86k,
including £10k match contribution from the Council.

Alternative options considered

Replacement of the gas boiler with the same
type would not achieve the decarbonisation of the heating system,
losing the carbon reduction benefit. It would not qualify for the
PSDS grant, so the council would bear the full cost.
