Purpose

The purchase of a Spring Tine, Ride on Mower,
trailer and wet-weather tyres for use within Parks services to
deliver improved grassland management for nature on additional
sites within the Parks Estate. This is funded through a grant
received from the ‘Big Chalk’ programme and match
funding from a developers CIL contribution.

Decision

To fully approve £60,170 of capital
budget, fully funded by Grant funding (£54,500) and
developers CIL (£5,670)

Alternative options considered

To not make the purchases was not considered a
viable option, as we have received the grant funding for this work.
Not proceeding would result in a missed opportunity to improve
management of our land for nature with no additional cost to the
Council.
To delay the purchase until next financial year was not considered
a viable option. The grant funding must be spent by the end of this
financial year
