Purpose

To install solar panels on the St Keyna School
roof using WECA Grant (50%) and the Council's Renewable Energy
Development Fund SSB. It is calculated that the roof can host
approximately 114 pv panels providing a maximum capacity rating of
about 55kWp and generate approximately 50,000kwh per annum.

Decision

To approve project set-up to the value of
£85,000, being £42,500 of Renewable Energy Development
Fund (service supported borrowing) to complement the 50% WECA grant
contribution up to £42,500.

Alternative options considered

To do nothing or not accept grant funding and
finance via SSB. It will help to decarbonise the estate and help to
meet the B&NES target of 12MW installed renewable capacity on
its corporate estate by 2030. It will help the reduce the operating
costs for St Keyna school and reduce carbon dioxide
emissions.
