About

The Climate and City Resilience Committee provides political oversight for Belfast's resilience strategy and the Council's Climate Action Plan. It considers the potential implications of climate change and other shocks for the city, its economy, and its people, making recommendations to the Council on its approach.

The committee monitors climate change impacts on vulnerable communities, influences regional considerations, and reviews economic risks. It also considers public education programmes, statutory responsibilities, and good practice from other cities. The committee also addresses the implications of Brexit for the Council and the city, fostering relationships and identifying mitigation actions and opportunities.
