The Independent Remuneration Panel advises the Council on the allowances paid to its elected Members. It makes recommendations regarding basic allowances, special responsibility allowances, and expenses for care of children or dependants, as well as travel expenses. The Council then considers these recommendations when setting the remuneration for its Members.
