Full council record
Decision
Considered – Report of the Chief
Executive.
Cllr. Terry Richardson thanked Geoff Welsh for
serving his community and being a long-serving member of the
Council. He added that the honour had
quite rightly been bestowed on this occasion as the Honorary
Alderman title is for those people who have served their community
with distinction.
Cllr. Luke Cousin added that Geoff Welsh was first elected in 1993, being
one of the longest serving councillors, and has worked tirelessly
for the residents of Glen Parva and the wider Blaby District. He
has an impressive public service record; and been a passionate
campaigner and a pillar of the community.
