Ethan Wood and Arianna Sultana provided an
update on their activities since the last meeting:

·
Met with the Council’s Climate Team to discuss the growing
importance of climate change and the impact it had on communities.
This included discussions about environmental change and how as a
borough working together could make a difference; how the council
could take action to reduce its environmental impact by supporting
greener community plans; talked about their views and the role of
young people in raising awareness; acknowledged that the largest
amount of waste came from domestic housing waste and the need to
encourage households to recycle more by implementing small habits
which could have a huge impact to reduce this.
·
Attended the Youthforia residential in Brathay which included a
range of team-building activities, networking and sharing
experiences with youth forums from across the
Northwest.  A campaign focusing on
improving accessible public spaces for those with SEND had been
developed to ensure inclusivity remained at the heart of future
development.
·
Met with the Council’s Public Health Team to review and
provide feedback on draft posters promoting the Mental Health
Services available for young people across the Borough including
plans to create an animated video about young people’s mental
health; spoke with representatives from the Community Safety Team
about anti-social behaviour issues, vaping and domestic violence
and provided feedback and shared suggestions on how awareness could
be raised.
