Rule 15 of the
Overview and Scrutiny Procedure Rules in the Council’s
Constitution allows for the call in procedure not to apply where a
decision is urgent.
 
RESOLVED
 
(1) 
That the report be noted.
 
(2) 
That funding of up to £500,000, drawn from the
Council’s Earmarked Reserves (Corporate Property Remediation
Reserve) to undertake urgent maintenance works to the
Council’s Tower Block, as set out in the report, be
approved.
 
(3) 
That the Strategic Director of Growth and Development, and the
Acting Director of Finance, in consultation with the Deputy
Director Legal and Governance be authorised to finalise the urgent
procurement of specialist contractors to undertake the works
required, consistent with the Council’s Financial and
Contract and Procurement Procedure Rules.
 
(4) 
That a revised Asset Management Plan for the Tower Block, including
proposals on future options, be submitted to a future meeting of
the Executive Board.
