Purpose

To seek approval for
officers to proceed with a  road closure
notice for the closure of Church Street from its junction with
Leopold Grove to the junction of Abingdon Street and Abingdon
Street from its junction with Birley Street to the junction of
Church Street (Area known as St Johns Square) pursuant to with the
Section 14 (2) (b) of the Road Traffic Act 1984 for a reason
permitted pursuant to section 14 (1) (b) of the road Traffic Act
1984
 

Decision

To authorise the closure, by
way of notice under Section 14 (2) (b) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, of:

a)    
Church Street from  its
junction with Leopold Grove to its junction with Abingdon Street;
and

b)    
Abingdon Street from its junction with Birley Street
to the junction of Church Street

c)    
Suspend the pay and display parking bays and dual
use bays  relating to taxis and loading
on Topping Street from its junction with Church Street to its
junction with Deansgate, the restrictions of which are contained in
the  “The Borough Of Blackpool (Various
Roads)(Consolidation of waiting restrictions, on street
parking places, residents parking places and taxi stands) Order
2024”
