Purpose

To consider the updated Local
Development Scheme (LDS) which outlines the estimated timetable for
the production of the new Blackpool Local Plan. 
 
This
document replaces the previous June 2022 Local Development Scheme
which
updated the timetable for the
Blackpool Local Plan Part 2 which was adopted by full Council in
February 2023.  The 2022 Local
Development Scheme also set out an initial timetable for the review
of the Blackpool Local Plan Part 1: Core Strategy.
 
 
Following the publication of the revised National Planning
Policy Framework by
Government in December 2024, at the same time the Government
requested that all
Planning
Authorities should update their Local Development Scheme and
submit
them to the
Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) by
6
March
2025.
 

Decision

The Leader of the
Council agreed the recommendation as outlined above
namely:
           
To
approve the Local Development Scheme 2025 attached at Appendix 'A'
to be submitted to the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local
Government and published on the Council's website.
