Purpose

To outline Blackpool
Council’s plans for distribution of the Early Years expansion
grant 2025/26. This report details the Council’s response and
response.
 

Decision

To distribute the
Council’s full allocation of £163,520 on a pro rata
basis to all Early Years settings registered for grant funding as
at 31st December 2024. It is recommended that the grant
is distributed using a similar formula as DFE has used to
distribute to council’s. The grant will be distributed in
accordance with the guidelines suggested by DFE.

The council proposes to make an additional payment to Early Years
settings based on their grant hourly attendance for 2 year olds and
under during the calendar year 2024. This equates to approximately
an additional 30p per hour.
