Purpose

The purpose of this report is
to seek approval for Blackpool Council to enter into Contract with
Coastsense Ltd. to install specialist radar equipment to monitor
the sediment movement and beach activities at locations across the
Blackpool Coastal frontage. 
 

Decision

To approve the decision to
enter into contract with Coastsense Ltd. for a five year period to
monitor sediment movement before and during the erection of the
rock groyne coast protection projects in particular the Blackpool
Central area. In addition use the radar information for monitoring
of bird movements during the bathing water season.
