Decision

The Executive resolved as
follows:
 
1. To agree that
Appendix 6b to the Executive report, is not for publication by
virtue of Paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local
Government Act 1972 as it includes detailed costings that enable
the Silicon Sands scheme to be viable. The publication of such
information could prejudice continuing and future
negotiations.
 
2. To note the contents of the
report.
 
3. 
To delegate to the Chief Executive, after consultation with the
Leader of the Council, authority to agree a preferred bidder for
the Technology Exemplar at the Blackpool Airport Enterprise
Zone. 
 
4. 
To authorise the Head of Legal Services to enter into all required
legal documentation in connection with the development of the
Technology Exemplar
 
5. 
To authorise, subject to suitable procurement, the securing of
appropriate contractual relationships with consultants as required
to progress, promote and deliver Silicon Sands.
 
6. To confirm an initial budget
allocation of £450,000 within the overall approved Enterprise
Zone budget envelope for progression of Silicon Sands.
 
7. To approve submission of an
outline planning application to Fylde Borough Council  seeking  consent for
the development of a 6MW capacity Data Centre , and associated
plant, together with 20,000 sq.ft of office/research and
development  accommodation and provision
for connections to a proposed District Heating system.
