Decision
The Executive resolved
as follows:
1.
To agree that the
decision is exempt from call in due to the need to make a
submission to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local
Government (MHCLG) by 28 November 2025.
2.
To note the observations made at the special Council
meeting held on 18 November 2025 regarding the proposed submission
on local government reorganisation in Lancashire.
3.
To approve the proposal attached as
Blackpool’s business case for local government reorganisation
in Lancashire.
4.
To approve that as part of the proposal, a request
is made to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local
Government for a modification order under Section 7 of The Local
Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 to deliver
boundary changes alongside the base business case as set out in the
proposal document.
5.
To authorise the Leader of the Council to submit the
Council’s proposal for local government reorganisation in
Lancashire to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local
Government.
6.
To delegate authority to the Chief Executive,
following consultation with the Leader of the Council, to approve
any minor amendments to the proposal that may be required, to
ensure submission before the deadline.
