Purpose

The proposed Parking Services
fees and charges for 2026/27.
 

Decision

The Cabinet Member agreed the recommendations as outlined above
namely:
 

1.    
To agree the schedule of on and off-street parking
tariffs for each parking area as set out within the attached
schedule at Appendix A, subject to consultation, with effect from
April 1, 2026. Note that these tariffs will show a blanket increase
of 3.4% rounded to the nearest 10 pence and reflects the first
tariff increase since 2022 for the majority of sites. The increase
follows the impact of the rising operational and maintenance costs
and remains below the current UK RPI rate of 4.2% (Dec
2025).
 

2.    
To agree the schedule of the business and
residential permit rates as set out within the attached schedule at
Appendix A. Note the recommendation is for these permit charges to
remain unchanged for the financial year commencing April 1,
2026.
 

3.    
To agree a schedule of charges for parking bay
suspension and dispensations as set out within the attached
schedule at Appendix A. Note the recommendation is for these
charges to be aligned with neighbouring Councils and will reflect
the first charge increase since 2018.
 

4.    
To agree the introduction of two additional tariff
time bands for South Beach Car Park. This will provide additional
parking flexibility on parking periods at that site.
