Purpose

A request has been made by local residents to temporarily close Hawthorn Road (Sherbourne Road to Grantham Road).

The road closure is required to support the local community by enabling safe, traffic-free spaces where children can play and neighbours can come together. The closure will be for a short, defined period and will not significantly impact traffic flow in the area.

Decision

To authorise the Head of Legal to make an appropriate order under SECTION 21 of the TOWN POLICE CLAUSES ACT 1847 to give effect to the proposals and to give the required notices.
