Purpose

To consider the payment of compensation to the former freeholder of 5 Cookson Street, Blackpool (the "Property"), assessed in accordance with the Compensation Code, principally comprising the Land Compensation Act 1961, the Compulsory Purchase Act 1965 and the Land Compensation Act 1973.

Decision

To approve the compensation settlement as set out in Appendix A - Compensation Settlement (Exempt) and to authorise the Head of Legal Services to enter into all necessary legal documentation in connection with the payment of compensation in respect of the Property. This follows the vesting of the Property in the Council on 26 July 2021 pursuant to the Blackpool Borough Council (King Street No.1) Compulsory Purchase Order 2020, which was confirmed by the Council on 27 January 2021.
