Purpose

To consider approval for a response to the letter from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) dated 20 July 2026 to Lancashire Chief Executives requesting views on additional matters that will be necessary for the Secretary of State to consider in any Structural Changes Order (SCO) in relation to local government reorganisation.

Decision

To agree, following consultation with the Leader of the Council, the joint response from Lancashire Chief Executives to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government on matters on additional matters that will be necessary for the Secretary of State to consider in any Structural Changes Order based on the proposals set out this report.
