Purpose

The section of Watson Road from its junction with the Promenade to its junction with Bond Street westbound is currently closed under the Highway Authorities emergency powers.  Such emergency powers permit a road closure for 21 days.  Due to the nature of the required works these will not be completed within the permitted 21 days period.  On this basis a further request has been made to extend the closure of the section of Watson Road from its junction with the Promenade to its junction with Bond Street  to allow for structural bridge repairs to continue and to install a one-way system eastbound to allow cars to exit the Promenade.

Decision

To authorise the Head of Legal to make an appropriate order under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to give effect to the proposals and to give the required notice.
