Purpose

The purpose of this report is
to seek approval for Blackpool Council to enter into Contract with
Eon to deliver a change to the Street Lighting and Traffic Signals
Private Finance Initiative (PFi) under a separate
contract.
The change is to the traffic
signal junction at squires Gate Lane and Lytham Rd and is required
to provide pedestrian facilities to the junction.
It is necessary to carry out
the Works via a separate contract, as there is a significant delay
by the PFI Lenders in providing their approval to carry out the
Works as part of the PFi Contract

Decision

To approve the decision to
enter into contract with Eon outside the PFi Contract to enable Eon
to provide a change to provide pedestrian facilities at the traffic
signal junction at Squires Gate Lane and Lytham Road.
