Purpose

To consider a proposal approved
by the Lancashire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Board at its
meeting on 20 June 2023 to wind up the company and agree next
steps. The Council is one of three ‘Members’ together
with Lancashire County Council and Blackburn with Darwen Borough
Council who collectively constitute the company as a corporate
body.
 

Decision

To agree on behalf of Blackpool
Borough Council as a Company Member to wind-up the Lancashire
Enterprise Partnership (LEP) company and agree that the company
submit a winding up application before 30 June 2023.

 
To agree that
the dormant company structure be replaced by
a Joint Advisory Business Board with draft Terms of Reference to be
agreed by the three Company Members.
 

To agree that the Interim LEP
Chief Executive and the LEP Accountable Body (Lancashire County
Council) Director of Law and Governance be authorised to draft
Terms of Reference for the new Joint Advisory Business Board with a
view to it becoming operational by September 2023, replacing the
existing LEP company structure.
