Purpose

A request has been
made by Blackpool Council Highways to close the north end of the
Service Road on Common Edge Road. The extents of the closure is
from Common Edge Road (old road/service road) from its junction
with B5261 on Common Edge Road (new bypass road) to its junction
with the southern boundary with 316 Common Edge Road (old
road). The road closure is
required to undertake essential drainage
works as part of the new Enterprise Zone development. The works are
planned to be undertaken within a 5 day timescale. 
 

Decision

To authorise (i) the Head of Legal to make an
appropriate notice under s14 (2) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984 to give effect to the proposals and (ii) the head of Legal
to give the required notices.
