About

The Audit Committee provides independent assurance on the council's corporate governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks. It reviews the adequacy of these arrangements, oversees financial reporting and annual governance processes, and monitors the work of both internal and external auditors. The committee is composed of six councillors who are not part of the Executive, along with an independent co-opted member who serves as Vice-Chair. Its role is crucial in ensuring good governance and financial standards across the Authority.
