About
The Climate Change and Communities Scrutiny Committee scrutinises council matters to advise the Executive on policies, budgets, and service delivery. It monitors the Executive's decisions and can review those not yet implemented to ensure they are appropriate. The committee also reviews the council's performance and makes recommendations for improvement.
Its specific responsibilities include health and safety, community safety, public health, environmental health, licensing, leisure, climate change, and relationships with other authorities. It may also consider finance, legal requirements, and staffing for projects, as well as monitoring the performance of assigned service areas.
