Purpose

Seeks Cabinet approval to publish the Plan Content and Evidence Consultation to continue plan preparation in accordance with the agreed timetable and statutory requirements.

Decision

RESOLVED that Cabinet: -

(a)               authorised the publication of the Plan Content and Evidence Consultation for the BCP Local Plan consisting of Appendix 1, the Land Availability Assessment and other technical evidence, for a period of at least six weeks, starting in October 2026; and

(b)              delegated authority to the Director of Planning and Transport, in consultation with the Leader of the Council, Planning Portfolio Holder and Chair of Cabinet, to finalise the consultation materials and consultation arrangements, and to make amendments prior to publication.

Reason

To enable the Council to undertake consultation on the emerging content of the new BCP Local Plan and supporting evidence base, and to ensure that plan preparation continues to progress in accordance with the Council’s agreed timetable.
