About

The Joint Waste Disposal Board administers waste disposal arrangements for the participating councils, operating under a Joint Working Agreement and a Principal Contract. It makes decisions assigned to it in Schedule 4 of the agreement and exercises delegated powers from the councils. The committee cannot change council policies or targets, determine budgets for the project, or acquire land. Decisions committing the councils to expenditure over £100,000, or exceeding an annual project expenditure of £100,000, must be referred to the councils for approval. The £100,000 threshold is subject to periodic review.
