Licensing and Safety Committee

The Licensing and Safety Committee is responsible for issuing, renewing, and enforcing various licences, permits, and registrations across Bracknell Forest. It determines conditions for these approvals and handles enforcement actions for non-compliance. The committee also decides on charging fees for these services.

Its remit covers a wide range of areas including the licensing of hackney carriages and private hire vehicles, gaming and lotteries, entertainments, animal establishments, food businesses, market and street trading, and caravan sites. It also has responsibilities related to health and safety at work, contaminated land, pollution control, air quality, and specific provisions under the Berkshire Act 1986 concerning public conveniences, hairdressers, building operations, and fire safety.
