Decision

To commission a Contractor to install solar
panels at Mallard House, Waterside Park under the same contract as
replacing the roof covering.

Reasons for the decision

Installing the roof and solar panels under the
same contract would reduce preliminary costs, and also inflation
would be minimised due to reduced programme.

Also, should there be any damage caused to the new roof while
installing the solar panels, repairs would be covered under the
contract.

Separating the projects would result in having to retender the
solar panel project resulting in elongated programme and additional
costs (construction and professional fees).
