Purpose

Strategic action plan to outline response to the areas for priority action identified in the Local Area SEND Inspection.

Decision

RESOLVED that

i.       the current content of the SEND priority action plan is noted and that the Executive Director of People in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Learning be authorised to agree the final submission to the Department for Education and NHS England.

ii.     the funding request of £0.350m for additional resources to deliver the action plan, as set out in Table 1, be approved noting the match funding request that has been made to NHS Frimley Integrated Care Board for a new Local Area Send Improvement Manager post.

Reasons for the decision

The recommendations are made to ensure that the local area partnership collectively

addresses the areas for priority action identified in the Ofsted and CQC inspection

and to improve the experiences and outcomes of children and young people with

SEND and their families.

Alternative options considered

No alternative options were considered as the local area must address the areas for

priority action identified in the inspection report.
