Purpose

To consider the consultation results from the
recent statutory consultation on changes to the speed limit, and
introduction of speed humps on Maize Lane, Warfield.

Decision

Resolved that:

·
the formal objections received during the statutory consultation
process and the corresponding Officer comments are noted;

·
the position regarding local ward Members comments received during
the consultation process is noted;

·
that the installation of the speed humps as advertised be
agreed;

·
that the current (Maize Lane, Warfield) (Speed Limits) Order 2025
be abandoned with a new Order being processed incorporating a 20mph
speed limit proposal on Maize Lane.

Reasons for the decision

The proposals are intended to mitigate against
the increased vehicular usage of Maize Lane due to the adjacent
residential development.

Alternative options considered

To not install the speed humps or lower the
speed limit would reduce the road safety of vulnerable road users
on Maize Lane given the increase in vehicular usage of the
road.
