Purpose

To present the 2025/26 Action Plan
highlighting priority actions in support of the 2025-2030 Climate
Change Strategy.

Decision

RESOLVED that Cabinet endorse the full
list of activities as presented within appendix 1 with a specific
reference to the eight major projects, each aligned to be
championed by the relevant Cabinet Portfolio
Holder

Reasons for the decision

Cabinet has already approved a refreshed
Climate Change Strategy 2025-30 and the
allocation of budgetary funds for 2025/26 to
specifically support actions addressing
issues raised within the Strategy. It is
therefore felt that a detailed action plan should
be developed to support those earlier
approvals.

Alternative options considered

The alternative options are best summarised as
either doing nothing to address the
impacts of climate change or doing less than
currently planned. As managing the
affects of climate
change is a corporate priority neither are considered viable
alternatives.
