Reasons for the decision
The current contracts for EICR and EET
services expired on 30 September 2025 and EET expires July 2026
respectively. To ensure statutory compliance with the Health and
Safety at Work Act 1974, Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, and
related legislation, a new consolidated contract is required to
deliver these services across the Council’s corporate
property portfolio and buy-back schools.
Alternative options considered
Framework options were considered along with
restricted and open tendering. An open tender procedure was
selected as this provides maximum competition whilst also
potentially lowering costs through wider participation.
