Purpose

To approve the publication of the council's
services equalities monitoring report for 2024-25 which outlines
how the council has delivered on its equalities objectives and
duties. The report will be published on the council's
website.

Decision

RESOLVED that
the Cabinet Member for the Environment, Community and
Housing APPROVES the
council’s annual service equality monitoring summary report
for 2024-25 for publication on the council’s public
website.
 

Reasons for the decision

The Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED)
requires the council to demonstrate an understanding of the impacts
of our actions, decisions and policies on equity and inclusion
through the publication annually of equality service information
that is sufficient, relevant, and proportionate.
 
These include:
 
1)         annually
- information to demonstrate compliance with the general equality
duty (‘equality information’) which is reasonably
accessible to the public.
 
2)         Every 4
years - one or more equality objective(s) which supports the
council in meeting the duty and to report progress made annually
(published).
