Decision

This report seeks approval to award the
contract for grave digging services to Tender A for an initial term
of 3 years. This is the provider selected through a robust
procurement and evaluation process and is considered to offer a
quality service as well as value for money.

Reasons for the decision

This is a new contract for the supply of an
existing service which has previously operated on a rolling annual
basis.

This project supports the following objectives within the Council
plan:
• Engaged and healthy communities
• Green and sustainable environment
• Ambitious, resilient and sustainable organisation

The new contract enables the cemetery and crematorium team to
ensure they have sought best value in terms of quality and price
for an essential out-sourced service.

Soft market investigations were undertaken
prior to issuing the opportunity on the portal.
