Decision
The council has been negotiating with Realty (landowner of the Lexicon) to enable access to their land and to seek agreement and approval for the removal of the footbridge owned by them which had previously enabled access from HSCP to Princess Square. The footbridge is now redundant. The figure of £40k falls within the allocated budget.
Reasons for the decision
To enable demolition of High Street Car Park
Alternative options considered
Leave the foot bridge in situ but this was ruled out due to structural issues.
