Purpose

To commit forward funding for the next stage
of the SRP Design Development, in anticipation that we will receive
the Safety Valve Programme capital grant.
 
NB:       This decision is
being taken under the general exception procedure as it has not
been possible to give 28 days’ notice. The Council was
expecting a decision from the DfE by the end of March on the
Council’s capital bid. Despite multiple attempts to chase, a
decision has not been received from the DfE. Failure to fund the
work now would delay provision of the SRP.
 

Decision

Forward funding of £0.175m be approved
for the Sandhurst and Edgbarrow special resource provisions from a
recently received Department for Education capital grant for high
needs provision, to enable work to continue pending confirmation of
the outcome of the Council’s Safety Valve capital grant
allocation.
