Disposal of Lily Hill Lodge
October 5, 2026 Executive Director: Place (Officer) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Decision
Lily Hill Lodge was formerly used as residential accommodation for Council-employed Rangers. It has not been used for this purpose for a number of years and has more recently been utilised for storage by the Parks and Countryside team. The property is no longer required for operational purposes and has therefore been declared surplus to requirements.
Reasons for the decision
The property has fallen into disrepair and would require significant investment to bring it back into a good and lettable condition. Such investment is not considered financially viable for the Council. In addition, the property's location is not considered suitable for the provision of Council housing accommodation.
Having considered the above factors, the Assets and Neighbourhood Board has determined that the property is surplus to operational requirements and should therefore be disposed of.
The property will be marketed nationally through the appointed auctioneer, ensuring exposure to the widest possible market and supporting the achievement of best consideration.
