Sale of asset resulting in capital receipt

Reasons for the decision

The Lodge was formerly used as residential accommodation used by the Council’s Housing team. Due to structural issues, the property has not been used for this purpose for a number of years.

The property has structural issues and has fallen into disrepair and would require significant investment to bring it back into a good and lettable condition. Such investment is not considered financially viable for the Council.

Having considered the above factors, the Assets and Neighbourhood Board has determined that the property is surplus to operational requirements and should therefore be disposed of.

The property will be marketed nationally through the appointed auctioneer, ensuring exposure to the widest possible market and supporting the achievement of best consideration.
