To award the contract to Infiniti Data Centre
Services and Solutions.

Reasons for the decision

The reason for this recommendation is that not
only was Infiniti the cheapest quote at £27,462, but they
also agreed to fulfil Building Control’s requirements of a
full plans form completed and included it in their quote. The air
conditioning units will see a reduction of power from 2x70 kwh to
2x14

The units will be ceiling mounted near the emergency exit door with
condensers mounted on the datacentre’s outside wall. There is
ventilation in the car park (other than the entrance) to permit
this.

Alternative options considered

Cold Control gave us a quote for
£33,259.10 for Daikin floor standing units, but after
enquiring about filling in BFC’s Building Control full plans
form, they were unaware of their obligations under Building
Regulations Act 2020. They didn’t reply to my request to
revise their quote to include filling in the form.

FutureTech (incumbent supplier) didn’t respond to the RFQ at
all.
