Purpose

To seek approval for the allocation of council
capital funding (£12,000) to fund a community tree planting
scheme, via Trees for Street. This national charity facilitates the
sponsorship of tree planting through donations from business,
groups and individuals. This will answer a demand from residents
and creates a sense of ownership and neighbourhood
connection.

Decision

RESOLVED that £12,000 of existing
capital funding, which is secured towards greening works, such as
tree planting and maintenance, is used towards funding a local
community funded sponsorship programme, delivered through Trees
for
Streets.
