Purpose

The report sets the Council Tax base for 2026-27 taking account of the numbers of dwellings, Bandings, and discounts amongst others.

Decision

Resolved –

(1)           That the number of Band D equivalent properties for 2026-27 across the Bradford Metropolitan District is fixed at 148,486 (as set out in Appendix A, line 14 of Document “AU”).

(2)           That the Council Tax Base for 2026-27 for each Parish (as set out in Appendix B to Document “AU”) be approved.

(3)           That Bradford’s £0.43m share of the anticipated 2025-26 Council Tax deficit be noted, along with the Police and Fire shares of the deficit (as set out in 6.3 of Document “AU”).

(4)           That the latest estimate of the gross shares of Business Rates income for 2026-27 will be reported to the Executive at the March 2026 budget meeting.

(5)           That authority is delegated to the Section 151 officer, in consultation with the Leader of the Council and the Chief Executive, to make any necessary amendments to the Business Rates estimates arising from completion of the 2026-27 NNDR1 form.
